Our History

Planning Works is a full-service planning firm that traces its roots to the former Freilich, Leitner & Carlisle Planning Group.  Formed in 2000, Planning Works has developed award-winning plans, development regulations, design guidelines, capital improvement programs and a variety of other tools to guide local decision-makers.  Most of these efforts have involved multi-jurisdictional coordination and development of public-private partnerships.  For the private sector, we facilitate profitable investment that achieves community goals.

Our Practice

We're a team of accomplished professionals experienced in planning, land use law, fiscal analysis and community design.  Our diverse practice emphasizes:

We are a small, client-oriented firm with national experience and resources.  Our size allows us to be responsive in dynamic planning processes while providing the best value in a time when every dollar must do more work to serve the needs of citizens.

We support responsible and creative leadership in local government.  Rather than imposing our goals and values, we help our clients decide how to best achieve their goals.  Our role is to identify the full range of options, explain the impacts of those options, and help our clients pursue the most effective course of action.
